# Levels

> Configure message XP, reward roles, announcements, and leaderboards.

## Enable leveling

The levels prefix command has its own configuration actions. Unlock enables the system and lock pauses it. Ignore rules exclude channels or roles.

## Reward roles

Add a role at a required level, choose whether reward roles stack, and sync roles against stored progress.

## Announcements and XP rate

Message modes include current, channel, dm, and off. The XP rate accepts values from 0.1 to 10.

## Command reference

Examples use the default comma prefix. Required inputs use angle brackets; optional inputs use square brackets. Each command notes whether it is also registered in Discord's slash menu.
